Cobalt catalysts on carbon-based materials for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis: a review

This review analyzes the literature from 80’s to beginning of 2020 and covers use carbon materials as supports for cobalt-based catalysts used in Fischer Tropsch reaction. The article is composed two sections. first one details reactivity supported cobalt with a particular focus on: i) reaction mechanisms conditions, ii) effect particle size, iii) confinement effects, iv) hydrogen spillover, v) deactivation mechanisms. In second part, different methods Co/C catalyst preparation are presented, influence several parameters such type its functionalization, metal loading or activation on catalytic performances discussed. work also provides some perspectives field.
